The Panama Canal has introduced new enhancements to the Maritime Services Tariff section of its official website as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the customer experience and modernize access to transit-related information. According to the Panama Canal Authority, the update includes the addition of a new category for Neopanamax container vessels as well as the local maritime conglomerate within its online tariff tools.

The updated section features a cost estimation calculator designed to help customers obtain projected transit costs through the Canal. The tool provides estimates for both fixed and variable tariff components, along with maritime services and port movement charges associated with Panama Canal operations.

The Canal Authority noted that while this calculator offers a useful estimate for planning purposes, it does not replace the VUMPA calculator — the Panama Maritime Single Window platform — which continues to provide a more detailed and comprehensive estimate of maritime service costs related to Canal transits.

Through these improvements, the Panama Canal reaffirmed its commitment to modernization, operational efficiency, and customer-focused service, ensuring that shipping clients and maritime stakeholders have better access to practical digital tools that support decision-making and transit planning.
